AUTOPETRO Show has established itself as the most prestige exhibition in the past years concerned to automobile, motorcycle and supporting fields in Vietnam.

The distinction of the Show in 2009 is the combination of AUTOPETRO (has been held for 11 times annually) and VIETNAM AUTOSHOW (has been held twice). By joining the two shows, VIETNAM AUTO & PETROL Show 2009 will deliver greater efficiencies for exhibitors to showcase their innovations and new technology in the industry, but also brings them opportunities to understand the regulatory environment throughout Vietnam that helps them running efficient business in Vietnam Market.

To be held concurrently with VIETNAM AUTO & PETROL Show 2009 in Hanoi, the 15th Asia Pacific Automotive Engineering Conference ¡V APAC 15 gathers prominent scientists, technological experts, engineers and enterprises operating in automobile industry come from 11 countries on the world. They will share insights on the presenting opportunities and issues, shaping and building the future of automobile industry in Vietnam and its enterprises alike.

 
Market Information

Although the global economy is in the downtrend, Asia is still regarded as the fastest growing area. Vietnam economy has gained essential achievements from the view of high growth rate in industry, construction and service, as well as the strong investment flow. Vietnam is established itself as an inviting destination of foreign investment, FDI total value in 2009 reached over US$ 64 billion which increased almost 200% compared to 2007, the whole amount of newly-licensed projects soared to 1,171. The implemented FDI value in 2008 counted to US$ 11.5 billion, 37% higher than 2007.

As the Ministry of Transportation has forecasted, the growth rate of automobile industry in Vietnam in the period of 2005 ¡V 210 will be about 16% per year and hit the amount of 1.2 million cars in 2010.

2008 is considered a hard year of Vietnam automobile industry caused by growing taxes. However, Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) reported that there were 106,000 complete vehicles sold out in 2008. Meanwhile, in the same period, Vietnam has imported about 49,500 complete vehicles (worth approx. US$ 1,020 million turn-over value). Import component and spare-part also reached growth of 75% compared to 2007 (worth over US$ 1.4 billion turn-over value.)

These numbers have marked the record in Vietnam Automobile industry, however, the best-selling ones still cannot supply all customers¡¦ demand. It is predicted that with the average of 18 cars/1000 people, Vietnam is on its way to access motorization from 2020 to 2025 (with more than 50 vehicles/1000 people). According to recent statistics, 98% of households in HCMC use motorcycles and this kind of means account for 87% in Hanoi, which highlights Vietnam as a real potential market for means of transport.

Consequently, consuming petroleum in Vietnam market is in great demand. Up to third quarter of 2008, Petro Vietnam has exploited 16 millions tons of raw oils whose export turnover reached 10.43 millions tons, accounting for 67% of 2008 plan. The proceeds reached VND 222.990 billion, growing by 56% compared to the same period in 2007.

Dung Quat, the first oil filtration manufacture of Vietnam has finished its building. In expectation from September of 2009 the manufacture will meet 30% of the domestic petrol requirement.
